A good workout today, although I really tired out while on the bike, energy depletion.  The caloric restriction over the last 5 days has left little left in storage for ready energy it seems.  Wheewhhh...breaktime. Enjoy.

Pushing Forward

Tuesday May 17, 2011
70x
SRBike  42/11 miles
TRun  47:30/5 miles
Progress is measured in terms of forward movement, or growth.  However progress does not necessarily move in one direction.  We may need to step back, step aside, hold our position,  go over, through, dodge obstacles, etc.  Keeping a balanced perspective allows one to continue to measure progress while occasionally moving back or laterally or otherwise.  Stay the positive course, with perspective and persaverance.  Peace.

Sleep over Exercise

Wednesday May 11, 2011
Why? I'll never know for sure.
Had to sleep and pass on the
normal early wake up to
exercise.  Sometimes you gotta
trust the body to do the right thing.
Call it a rest day...

The Spin Instead

Tuesday May 10, 2011
X70
SRBike: 75/18.6 miles
Did not feel like running this morning, managed to get on the stationary bike, planning to for just a few minutes, kept on spinning along and cranked out 75 minutes and 18.6 miles, a lot more than I imagined I would put in.  Some days, some times you just never know. Never give up, never.  Suprise yourself with your own personal spin class...then find a way to enjoy it all...

Thursday morning, seemed to get plenty of sleep, downed 20 ounces of Peet's coffee, still I feel weak and tired.  Guilting myself over to the stationary bike, I get on and get going.
Got it done, got a workout in, still tired. WTF???????

Self Discipline

The act of executing a decision, despite obstacles, despite self imposed objections, to accomplish a task striving to meet one's goals, short or long term. That is self discipline.

Endorphins ?

Endorphins? Where are you?

Not feeling it, not like I used to.  It's taking all I've got mentally and physically to just get to the starting line, it's gotta be a phase to go through, I hope to get through it soon.  Not finding a lot of fun in this right now.  Enough negativity self...lets get focused on just going through change and facing whatever comes....

Endurance

Enduring the discomfort and pain of physical challenge causes the mind and body to adjust and over time build endurance.  Regular exercise and challenge to the physical and mental self will build your confidence in yourself.  The best plan is to do something easy and gradually build upon the effort, extending minutes and distance. Some minimum level of self discipline is needed to get going each day and do something, be it walk, jog, ride a bike, swim, hike, etc.,  Keep it fun and strive for consistency, over time you will find yourself reaping the rewards building endurance and confidence along the way.  Go for it.
