Fall River Trail Recon

La Pine State Park, a beautiful place. Did a Reconnaissance on the distance from The Cabin to the Trail head Parking Area in the Park. 11 miles on Huntington and in on the Park road. Walk on the paved road just a bit across the bridge going over the Deschutes and look for the trail head sign marking the Deschutes trail, following that for less than one half mile as it merges with the Fall River trail. Fall River Trail Loop is 4.75 miles, add the distance from the Trail head parking area and it is a 5+ mile route.

The idea is a training route, duathlon. 11 mile bike/5mile trail run/11 mile bike. Ought to be a good workout and a great area to take in.
We walked for about 30 minutes out there today, the McGregor Point outlook is outstanding, it's a sight to see and it's on the route! Sweeping view of the river as it winds its way below the cliff.
